“Something seemed to impress us as we stood there that this was the holiest place of all, and we fancied we could have witnessed one dramatic scene that took place there.” (Harold B. Lee in reference to the Garden Tomb)
One such scene was the Savior’s appearance to Mary Magdalene. As the first person that Christ appeared to after His triumph over death, Mary is described as a great friend and a loyal follower. In this portrayal Mary desires to touch her Master. However, “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father …” (John 20:17).
